During this impressive hike, we encounter documentation of the history of gold mining, which reached its golden age in mid. 16th century in Bad Gastein.

The hiking path starts below the Gastein Healing Gallery in Böckstein and leads through a series of moderately steep hairpin bends up through Haitzingwald forest. The Hieronymushaus, which was built by the last ruling archbishop, Hieronymus Earl of Colloredo, fell victim to an avalanche in 1975.
