Unvorgettable moments

Nothing is more beautiful than experiencing nature coming to rest at over 2000 metres and the sun disappearing behind the horizon, glowing red.

The days on which this natural experience is possible are rare. To enable as many people as possible to enjoy the sunset atmosphere, we have thought of something:

From the end of September to the end of October, we will announce on this page every Wednesday at 2 pm whether we are extending the operating times of the summit lift until after sunset on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The Gipflstadl directly at the mountain station is also open until dusk on these days.

If the weather forecast is generally poor with rain and heavy cloud cover, we will decide not to extend the operating hours on any of the three days. You will also be informed here by Wednesday, 2 pm at the latest.

TIP: In autumn, the days on the mountain are already cool. Take precautions and bring plenty of warm clothing.

Announcement of date

We will announce the first date for the extended ascent on Wednesday 18 September. Provided the weather is good, you can enjoy the sunset on the Fulseck on Friday 20, Saturday 21 or Sunday 22 September. On this day, the summit lift runs until 7.30 pm. The sun will set behind the surrounding mountain ridges at around 6.40 pm.
