Gasteiner Skihauben

Six award-winning chefs provide culinary highlights in Gastein

In the middle of the Hohe Tauern, at the Gastein ski huts , a stop-off is particularly rewarding. Particularly popular are all dishes based around the deliciously spicy goulash soup, the hut classic spaghetti bolognese, and not forgetting the delicious homemade pastries, such as yeast dumplings with vanilla sauce, or curd cheese and blueberry strudel, mmhhh...
Now the Gastein innkeepers have teamed up with chefs from top gastronomy and developed the Gastein Ski Hoods. From the start of the season, delicious toque-awarded dishes can be ordered at selected huts throughout the winter.

So that the stop-off during your winter vacation in the Gastein Valley becomes a real culinary highlight.

Lauwarmer Spitzkrautsalat mit Kürbiskernpesto und Hühnerbrust

Welcome to the summit of delights
Each chef was asked to create their own recipe using mainly local ingredients. This is now cooked daily at one of the selected huts in Gastein and served to guests. A wine accompaniment is offered for each dish. And the huts are also adapted to the exquisite offer - table service included.

An offer that enjoys great popularity! Not least because of the unbeatable price: a toque-awarded dish costs a maximum of 20 euros. Who can resist that?

Some of the ski huts are also easy to reach without skis. So this culinary delight is not just reserved for winter sports enthusiasts. Wellness and health holidaymakers in the Gastein Valley can also share in the culinary delights.

There are six award-winning chefs behind the Gastein ski toques:

  • Johanna Maier, Das Maier in Filzmoos
  • Vitus Winkler, Vitus Cooking in St. Veit im Pongau
  • Sepp Schellhorn, Der Seehof in Goldegg
  • Johannes Fuchs, Schloss Restaurant at Schloss Fuschl in Hof near Salzburg
  • Phillip Rachinger, Genießerhotel Mühltalhof in Neufelden an der Großen Mühl.
  • In memoriam Jörg Wörther, a top chef from Gastein who inspired the culinary world with his creative ideas! Thank you Jörg for developing another recipe for the ski hoods.
