Bad Gastein

The Panorama Road to the National Park Hohe Tauern in the Salzburger Land

The Gastein alpine road (built from 1970 - 1972) with a length of 4.2 km connects the Gastein valley (starting point is Böckstein) with Naßfeld/Sportgastein - a wonderful plateau in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park.

"The most beautiful end of a valley in the Hohe Tauern National Park” is in summer a great experience for nature and hiking fans. Little rustic cabins offer refreshments and indulge their guests with local products from their own production. Hikes, mountain tours and high alpine tours - extensive opportunities for families and mountain climbers.

In winter the Nassfeld becomes "Sportgastein". It´s snowsure until early May for alpine and cross-country skiers. The highest situated ski area in Gastein also offers romantic hiking paths - pure relaxation in the healthy mountain air of the Hohe Tauern!
