"The project on Straubingerplatz is something very special to us. We are delighted to be able to contribute to the revival of part of the imposing history of Bad Gastein as well as its path towards the future. In the process, our priority is to ensure that our guests as well as the residents of Bad Gastein are able to identify with the project and the new products. That said, we will always keep our doors open for personal encounters and exchanges of ideas. Even now, we look forward to a vibrant town center and we wish to thank the Spa & Tourism Office for their communications support as well as all local residents for their understanding during the construction phase." - Daniel Eickworth, ex-CEO of Hirmer Hospitality
Built between 1791 and 1888, the ensemble of Hotel Straubinger, the Badeschloss and the Old Post Office has long contributed to the iconic appearance of downtown Bad Gastein and is historically listed.
The historically listed hotel ensemble from the Belle Époque is being renovated, whilst the remodelling project concludes with the addition of a new building. In total, the ensemble will be home to 150 4- and 5-star-category rooms. The construction site is expected to be active until autumn 2023.
General: The final phase of the project has now been reached and the schedule of opening in autumn 2023 is realistic, as delays are no longer to be expected.
Hotel Straubinger & Badeschloss: The interior work on all buildings, including the new tower, which is part of the Hotel Badeschloss, is progressing quickly and according to plan; some of the furniture is already being worked on. The scaffolding on the tower has already been removed, and the imposing structure can now be admired from all sides!
