Guided hike: Natural jewel Reedsee

Minimum number of participants: 4

A fantastic but demanding hike to one of our most beautiful mountain lakes, the natural jewel Reedsee.

We hike along the mighty Himmelwand and will reach the outer zone of the National Park Hohe Tauern.
We turn to the right at "Jägerstein", across the Kötschachbach and take the alpine trail 526 up to Kohlplatzl and all the way to Reedsee at 1.820 m.

After a relaxing break at one of the most beautiful mountain lakes we continue the hike up - past Windschursee to Palfnerscharte (2.321 m). The marvellous mountain panorama invites to linger again.

Descent to the deep green Palfnersee and further to the Graukogel mountain station.
This hike takes us above the timber line.

The Hohe Tauern National Park is a unique natural paradise that is just waiting to be hiked and discovered. Birds can be identified based on their song or flight pattern and there is also the possibility of observing other wild animals. Bearded vultures, griffon vultures and golden eagles often circle here. Marmots, chamois, ibex and many other mountain dwellers use this habitat here. Geological and botanical peculiarities always surprise interested hikers.
