A real challenge for the winter sports enthusiast!
Once again in 2025, the spectacular race on the north run of the Schlossalm takes place in Gastein. The route from the Hohe Scharte to the valley station of the Schlossalm is considered one of the longest downhill runs in the Eastern Alps. The "wild race" in super-G style covers 1440 metres in altitude. It takes enormous strength and stamina in the thighs to be cheered on by the fans at the finish line at the Weitmoserin after around 6 minutes.
This year, it is not only skiers who can try their hand, once again, all snowboarders are called upon to demonstrate their skills. The requirements to take part in the race are simple: anyone over the age of 18 who has two skis or a snowboard and whose thighs are happy to take a big beating is welcome! All participants can expect a top event with a great social program! The number of starters is limited to 350 participants.

Points are awarded for each race participation. These are calculated using a formula similar to the FIS points formula. Age, gender and sports equipment (skis or snowboard) do not play a role in the draw. It's all about ability. The fastest skier or snowboarder of the day receives zero points.
The last three races are always used for the calculation. Those who have not yet competed in three races receive a penalty for the previous races.
This means that each starter has collected points from three years. The average of these two years gives the current total points score and thus the ranking.
Example: The points leader Thomas Hettegger took part in the first and second year. In the first year he scored 12.77 points. He won in the second and third year and therefore scored 0 points. The average of these two results is 4.26.
Max Zettinig won in 2022 and therefore scored 0 points. In 2023 he scored 101.12 points. In 2024 he was not at the start and received a penalty of 24.88. The average of these two scores is 42.00, which puts him in 4th place.
The draw is made in groups of 30. This means that everyone who is currently in the top 30 will be drawn. Everyone between 31 and 60 will be drawn. 61-90, 91-120 and so on...
Everyone who is competing for the first time this year will be drawn in the last starting group.
