Energy Community Gastein North e.V. is a non-profit association. The aim is to promote the regional energy transition and ensure a fair and sustainable energy supply for its members. Dorfgasteiner Bergbahnen AG has been a member of this association since 2025!

What is EEG Gastein Nord e.V.?
EEG Gastein Nord e.V. is a non-profit energy community that enables all households in the Gastein Nord grid area to exchange regionally generated energy at fair conditions. In short, if energy is fed into the grid within the EEG and is needed at the same time, the electricity is shared among the members and billed via the EEG.
How do you benefit as a member?
On the one hand, members benefit from the lower costs for purchasing electricity and, on the other, from the higher feed-in tariff. Membership is free of charge and can be terminated at any time. In times when there is no surplus energy, the electricity is purchased via the existing electricity provider, so that no changes are necessary for members in this respect.
In the quarterly statement, you will receive a transparent list of the energy exchanged by e-mail and payment will be made automatically by direct debit or a credit will be transferred to your account.
How do you become a member?
Send us the completed application form, authorize the energy data with your grid provider (online portal -Salzburg Netz GmbH) after receiving confirmation from us and benefit from the advantages that EEG offers you.
Are there any disadvantages to membership?
No, there are no disadvantages. Electricity consumers buy electricity more cheaply, so they save money. Electricity producers receive more money for their energy. Membership of the association can be terminated at any time without any effort.
What requirements do I need for membership?
To become a member of the Energiegemeinschaft Gastein Nord e.V. association, electricity must be measured via smart meter and the 1/4 hour data must be activated. In addition, every member needs access to the SalzburgNetz portal.

The total saving compared to Salzburg AG is currently 9.3 cents/kWh for private customers and 10.3 cents/kWh for businesses. At Salzburg AG's current electricity price, including all costs, this amounts to 17.4 cents/kWh for private individuals instead of 26.7 cents/kWh, while tradespeople pay 17.4 cents/kWh instead of the current 27.7 cents/kWh. This means 34 percent lower procurement costs!
