With optimal thermals and breathtaking mountain vistas, Fulseck in Dorfgastein is a prime destination for paragliding enthusiasts. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pilot, the summit in Dorfgastein has consistently ranked among the top launch sites in the province of Salzburg – perfect for those seeking high-altitude thrills.
Good to know: Thanks to the new Kieserlbahn cable car, Fulseck is now even more accessible for paragliders coming from Großarltal valley.
Paragliding is a year-round activity in Dorfgastein. Pilots from both near and far gather in Dorfgastein throughout the year to experience the freedom of flying at altitudes ranging from 800 to 2,000 metres. The two launch sites are conveniently located near the Fulseck mountain station. During summer, adventurous nature enthusiasts often opt to hike up the mountain before paragliding back down into the valley.
Tip: A separate paragliding ticket is available for the ascent with the Gipfelbahn Fulseck cable car.
From the Großarl side, the new Kieserlbahn cable car transports pilots up to Fulseck. During the colder months, a brief walk along the winter hiking trail leads to the take-off point. In summer, they can hike across the mountain ridge from the Kieserlbahn mountain station to Fulseck.
The renowned Flugschule Salzburg also takes advantage of the optimal paragliding conditions in Dorfgastein. The team frequently conducts paragliding courses on Fulseck.
If you’d rather entrust the steering to seasoned professionals and enjoy the experience as a passenger, you might want to consider Lois Grugger’s services. With 30 years of experience, this experienced pilot has been offering paragliding flights for guests as young as six years old.
The best offers, events, which you should not miss at all.
