Guided hike: Nassfeld nature trail

Topics: Léto | Túry | Nationalpark Themen Wege | Národní park | geführte Wanderungen

Information about the Event:

The family-friendly circular route shows the special features of the Bad Gasteiner Nassfeld area on information boards with regard to glaciers, moors, wetlands and general flora and fauna.

Framed by the glaciated mountains of the Tauernkamm, the panorama in Nassfeld has an impressive effect on its visitors. Nassfeld is not about untouched nature, but rather a cultural landscape that has been shaped by man for centuries. Mining ruins and the old Roman path are traces of the once much traveled trade route over the Mallnitzer Tauern.

The Nassfeld National Park themed path is located at the end of the Gastein Valley Nassfeld and begins directly at the information hut of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Here visitors can get additional information on the areas of geology, the basis of life water, wild animals and the alpine flora that characterize the Gastein Nassfeld.

From the parking lot, the path runs southwards towards the Nassfeldalm and Brandtneralm. The hike is advertised as "easy - moderate" and is therefore also suitable for families with slightly older children.
