Gigerach Hütte

Surrounded by grasslands, Forrests and a breathtaking panorama over the Gasteinertal, you are set to take some healthy distance from everyday business.

Location
Amid the Hohe Tauern mountain chain and about 5km above Bad Hofgastein, you will find yourself at 1.100m altitude, in peaceful solitude, at a cosy self-caterer cottage - an inspiring location to leave all your cares behind. Recreation, nature and sports are some of the compelling activities to await you here. The idyllic solid wood cottage is situated at the edge of the forrest of Stubnerkogel, from where you can ideally start day trips, hikes, ski and mountain-bike tours into the vast nature around. During winter the pistes will take you right to the doorstep of Gigerach Hütte. The heart of the village Bad Hofgastein, where you will find super markets, bakeries and restaurants, is reachable in just about a ten minute drive downhill an asphalted road (we still recommend to bring snow chains for your tires in winter, just in case).

Accomodation
Recently renovated, the folksy wood hut offers charming wood interior with a modern touch. A vacation with family, friends or small groups is set to become an experience to remember: The spacious living area with traditional tiled stove offers an especially cosy atmosphere and  enough space for friends and loved ones to hang and chill. The fully equipped kitchen holds a typical country-style corner booth for traditional feasting flair. The three bedrooms feature comfortable double-beds, single-beds and one bunk-bed - housing up to twelve people in total. The sanitary facilities are equipped with a shower, two toilets and three sinks. The Gigerach Hütte is surrounded by carefully groomed grassland, where evenings can be spent under the breathtaking starlit sky. Especially popular is our built-in sauna with direct access to the outside, where you traditionally jump into the fresh snow after a steaming sauna service in winter.

Summer
Aside hiking, bike tours and extended walks, a summer vacation holds a wonderful experience at Gigerach Hütte. Sport enthusiasts can take a trail from the cottage to the famous 140m suspension bridge at the summit of the Stubnerkogel or enjoy the stunning view from the observation deck “Glocknerblick”.

Winter
In winter, the ski-pistes will take you to your very doorstep at Gigerach Hütte. From there you can explore the ski-region of Stubnerkogel-Schlossalm-Angertal and experience the fine traditional dishes of Salzburger cuisine in one of the cosy cottage-restaurants around. Of course, sledging is an adventure to take - for kids and adults alike: The 3.5km natural sled-track “Aeroplan” starts right from the nearby Schlossalm.
